What is HIFU?
HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) is often called the ‘Ultrasound Facelift’ thanks to its skin tightening and facial rejuvenation benefits.
This treatment uses ultrasound energy to stimulate three different layers of the skin to initiate the body’s own regenerative response. This leads to new collagen being created and firmer, tighter, more lifted skin is the result.
HIFU is the perfect treatment for clients who are looking for something more subtle that a surgical face lift and who don’t want the downtime associated with surgical procedures. HIFU clients can return to their normal activities straight after the treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
The beauty of HIFU is you only need one treatment. However, due to the nature of the ageing process clients will often choose to come in for a top up treatment annually or whenever they feel they need one.
Whilst some initial tightening is felt straight away it takes around 3 months for the real results to be really evident. This is because the old collagen needs to be replaced with new, stronger collagen.
What will I look like straight after my treatment?
There is no real downtime associated with HIFU. Occasionally some people have very slight redness and some minor swelling but commonly clients won’t experience either.
How long does HIFU take?
Following a previous patch test the actual HIFU treatment can take up to 2 hours depending on the number of areas to be treated.
